ATTENTION!
First things first, those who're still waiting for Mdm Marina's camera pictures, you WILL get them latest by the time I come back from India, about 19th Decemeber I suppose. Sorry for the inconvenience, but she doesn't know how to transfer the pictures into a CD and can only do so to a thumbdrive & her schedules & mine doesnt suit so we can't meet up to collect the pictures.
Class Outing #4 Dinner (AGAIN!) & Movie! (YEY!)
Here's what we've (ME & ZONGSHENG T.T) planned.
We'd go for a movie at Causeway Point in the afternoon. Highly likely, we're gonna watch Enchanted, since its a total reflection of... Woonyeow & Clare's relationship? (AS IF!) & though its on a Friday, hope you guys can still make it? Cause I think its quite a good laugh + its kinda fun to watch as a class somemore! :D
Essence of ENCHANTED from http://www.cathay.com.sg:
A classic Disney fairytale collides with modern-day New York City in a story about a fairytale princess (AMY ADAMS) from the past who is thrust into present-day by an evil queen (SUSAN SARANDON). Soon after her arrival, Princess Giselle begins to change her views on life and love after meeting a handsome lawyer (PATRICK DEMPSEY). Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?
You guys would then proceed to my house for a game of bowling (for those interested! if I can book also la! & this is suggested by ZONGSHENG AGAIN?! ZOMG t.t) & then we'd have a few games (ORGANISED BY ZONGSHENG, ZOMG! HIM AGAIN T.T) & dinner! :D
Dinner would likely be some simple food fare, like the one you had for the cheering com celebration, except that I'd offer a better variety of food, since that was super last minute yea! :D The cost for the dinner might be $4! :D Sorry! INFLATION LA >_>
Anyone disagreeing, please raise your humble opinions on the class tagboard. Will gladly take into consideration your suggestions. Will NOT be updating the column for the class outing at the sidebar, until 22 November (IHOPE!), when I have stopped receiving suggestions by then.

Geography students,
I think some of you have not taken the handouts for Tourism (first page) and Impacts of Tourism. I apologise for being forgetful enough to give them out.. =) . So, here they are. Just click on the 4 thumbnails, download and print them yourself kaes?? I suggest you print in in gray scale since there seems to be a bluish tinge. Btw, FYI, I found the Sec 4 Geo TB quite useful, maybe it can assist you when completing the tourism assignment.
Okay, that's all. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Oh ya, bye-bye, I'm going back to Indonesia le.
Cya next year!
Your lovely (but blur) Geography rep.

YOYO (:
I remember the rehearsals that we have been through. Worth it, I guess. I think I should say sorry to whoever that has been irritated by me during the practices. Haha! I was too impatient and what have you. But everything ended well ba... Anyway, I managed to touch the trophy as a winner and not as an organiser. This is like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. So funny ah!
!!! The hamper will be shared on the 8th of November, which is our class outing. Go to that later.
Speaking of which, I think I deserve some credits for Cheering Comp, cos I
a) sent in 2 cheers,
b) helped edit the last cheer (SEXY cheer),
c) bought props with Benjamin Wang, Eugene Koh and Lee Huan Ghee and
d) REHEARSED WITH YOU ALL LEH.
Where to find such a nice and of course wonderful celebrity? I must admit the buying props part was a bit embarrassing for me cos there were many reporters trying to take a picture of me. I had to take bus further down to Phoenix to avoid contact with any of them. This is your T2 schizophrenic CELEBRITY.
Enough of silliness.
The focus of this post is that I think time really flies cos it's October already. Though we are not very close or maybe I don't feel very attached to this class, but I think I am starting to love this class. I don't know, perhaps. I am wondering what I'd be feeling after O level. Maybe I would miss you all greatly. Haha! (:
MAYBE.
Talking about Os reminds me of 31st Oct, which is O level Express Chinese. Those who are in extreme danger (like me, my Chinese... le sigh!) better start memorising quotes. Or practise assessments or whatever. In any case, good luck la hor. Please score an A1 or A2. No wait, A1. Then later I get B3, so xiasuey. Hahaha.
And hope our teachers don't change. By teachers I mean Mrs Joseph, Mr Tai and some others. (:
Anyway the outing's details are on the previous post (Guess I'm a little late?). Please attend it larh!
Signing off... Demas Koh.

JIAYOU!
Firstly, thanks for all the hard work that everyone had put in=) And thanks Demas too for helping out even though he can choose not to (but he did!). And our Cheerleaders Wei'En and Aihua for their enthusiasm and initiative...Benjamin too who was unable to sleep well cos he was busying sorting out the cheers. THANK YOU.And of course everyone..esp those who need to travel very far just to come for these practices..thanks alot for your efforts and enthusiasm..
And please, do take very good care of youselves..because of the very lousy weather these few days. Thanks for enduring, T2!
However, if we do not win...we must not be sad! We shall just give our best on that day, and perform well...Lets not think so much abt winning, people! We have worked hard as a class for the past 2 to 3 days..under that stupid weather..and we should not be too sad as we have alr tried our best! BUT STILL, we should now still stay positive, (though our competitors are really strong), and prove that we are really the best! we shall fight to the end with all our might and no one's gonna break our pride! JIAYOU BA CLAIRVOIANS! GOOD LUCK!

Excretion Test Answers
Ms Aza is uploading the answers to Litespeed, but I'm not sure when, so here are the answers that have been compiled so far, in bright, pretty, electric blue:
BIOLOGY EXCRETION TEST ANSWERS:
Section A:
1)B
2)D
3)D
4)A
5)D
Section B:
Question 1:
A) Why is the tube coiled instead of being straight?
The tube is coiled to increase its surface area to volume ration so that the diffusion rate of the waste materials out of the blood into the dialysis fluid would be faster.
B) Why must the dialysis fluid be constantly replaced?
- For urea to be removed
- To maintain a low concentration of metabolic waste products in dialysis fluid
C) Why does the blood and dialysis fluid flow in opposite direction?
-create countercurrent flow in the system
-maintain a steep urea conc gradient between patient's blood and dialysis fluid
- increase the efficiency of urea diffusion
D) I. The human kidney
By selective reabsorption in the proximal convoluted tubules. Active transport energy is needed to reabsorb glucose and min. salts into tissue around the renal tubules. Glucose and mineral salts diffuse into blood vessels which is of a lower glucose and mineral conc.
E) II. The kidney machine
The dialysis fluid of the kidney machine has the same conc. Of glucose and mineral salts as the blood that flows through it. This ensures that no conc. Gradient for glucose and min. salt diffusion exist. Therefore, no net movement of glucose and min. salts out of the blood occurs and they are retained in the blood.
Question 3:
A) Name the fluids found in B and D.
Glomerular filtrate & urine.
B) Account for the absence of protein in B.
Proteins are too large to be filtered through the BASEMENT MEMBRANE and CAPILLARY WALLS of the glomerulus, hence they are not found.
C) Account for the absence of protein in C.
Reabsorption of glucose molecules has taken place at the proximal convoluted tubule before reaching C. All of the glucose molecules have been reabsorbed into the blood at the proximal convoluted tubule.
D) Explain the change in flow rate from B to D.
Volume of filtrate in B is larger than in D. AS filtrate pass along B and C, large amount of glucose and water has been reabsorbed, therefore the volume of filtrate is decreased, resulting in a slower flow rate.
High blood pressure is often related with increased fluid in the body. The anti-diuretic hormone, ADH, has a homeostatic function. How does high blood pressure affect ADH production?
A high blood pressure means that there is an increased volume of blood flowing through the body. The increased volume of blood means that there is a higher content of water in the blood and this causes the body to not need to reabsorb any water from the collecting duct and distal convoluted tubules, seeing as the body has more than enough water and needs to pass out as much as possible during urination to decrease blood pressure. Therefore, the pituitary gland in the brain will reduce the amount of ADH produced, because ADH will increase water reabsorption and will lead to an even higher blood pressure.
Thank you for being so patient with me. (:

Just a little information...
I know OBS rocked, your watched rocked, your instructors were fabulous and yada.
However, from what I heard from 4T2 people, we're to move into their classroom. Henceforth, we have to decide on our seating arragements & I need some suggestions.
I'm proposing that we sit in twos based on the draw lots arrangement, cause we have CT & its easier to arrange from there. & we're only going to sit until their Prelims are over. Any improvements, or other suggestions you'd like to make, post on the tagboard ya. Its really important, cause I dont want there to be scrambling of seats on Monday! :)

Mind the Christmas-y colours. It was not thought about on purpose! :)
Anyway...
Tests for next week are probably:
E Math - Wednesday
A Math - Thursday (but there isnt any Amath period on Thursday! Will email Mr Tai to check!)
Based on the handout given during holidays. Required knowledge until Chapter 5C.
History - Wednesday, 2.30pm after school
Content Test on Chapters 2 & 3. Probably bulk will come from Russia & Chapter two's focus would be on the League of Nations considering it has not been tested (This has not been 100% factual, just a thought). There MIGHT be an inferring question. Question styles are that of the Common Test 1 that we have. :)
Chemistry - Tuesday or Thursday (SPA Period?!) (that's the only available Chem period next week!)
Mole D:
I'm not too sure if we have a Vocab test nxt week or not. Can someone pls clarify this? Thanks! :D
& if there's anything wrong with the above mentioned, please correct it and colour the changes in a differing colour. :D

East Coast Park Outing; June 16th 2007
Last updated on 3rd June 2007 at 8.30pm
There will be a class outing on the 16th, which is of course a Sunday.
There has been discussion about the upcoming class outing.
People present in meeting:
1) Demas (I have discussed with myself)
We will meet at the CCK control station at 9am, and of course, it will last till evening, around 5pm.
I apparently do not have the list of the people going, so if you are going, please tag or tell me on msn so that I can update. TBC currently stands for, to be confirmed :D
If you have other committments or whatever on the 10th, go there individually or whatever. Alternatively, the meeting with Benjamin i allowed. So you can meet him and go together. This, however, should be settled personally through the contact of email of hairhooks@gmail.com.
Transport will be by MRT and then bus.
There will be games; however, opposition to games is allowed and if it does not seem popular, then the whole idea will be set aside entirely. We would carry out a voting, probably through polling, and at least 2/3s of the majority, voting & present must be reached before a unanimous decision can be made.
We are going to East Coast Park, located on the EAST SIDE OF SINGAPORE.
You are to bring at least $5 for lunch. However this is unrealistic so bring more for tidbits or miscellaneous. If you feel as happy as a MOTHER THERESA, & you feel generous, you are permitted to bring FOOD & TIDBITS to SHARE & be a SHARITY ELEPHANT :D
Please bring one extra set of clothes.
Activities in sea are considered.
Loss of valuable, money or body parts are not responsibilities of the class committee.
It is compulsory to inform your parents. Failure to do so will result in 0 responsibilities of the class committee, should any accidents happen.
Suggestions to activities of the outing is open to all members of 3T2 Clairvo.
I appreciate that no edits by anyone are done to this post.
Signed,
Demas; Member of the Class Committee - Student Councillor.
Benjamin; Member of the Class Committee - Head of Management (who is eligible for edition of this post)
